This apparently normal child for last 1 month is experiencing post exertional fainting episodes and recovers spontaneously.since then he has become lethargic.weak.anorexic and has deteriorated in studies.
His mother expired suddenly during his infancy wihtout a known cause which gave the clue of some inherited heart disease.so i did ecg which revealed LONG QT SYNDROME .
It can precipitate arrythmias and sudden death if not immed intervened.later all blood and urine reports came normal.
Adrenergic blockers reduce the syncope or fainting episodes but since its genetic permanent cure is impossible.
So diag was made within an hr of presentation and is rarest of rare diag .i diagnosed it 1st time and never diagnosed.heard or seen in any of the centres i worked till date.
